Ganesh chaturthi is one of the most beloved festivals in India. It marks the birthday of lord Ganesha, the eight-headed god of wisdom and knowledge and is known to bring prosperity and remove obstacles from the lives of people by bringing happiness.

This festival is celebrated with great devotion across India. It starts with people bringing beautiful Ganesha idols in their homes and decorating it. They offer Bappa prasad and perform prayers and aarti for 10 days with love and delight. The 10th day, known as Anant chaturdashi is when the idols are immersed in water and people send off Bappa with devotion. This ritual continues every year with faith and love of people for lord Ganesha.

This year, Birla Open Minds International school celebrated this festival with tradition and great excitement. Starting with an Eco-friendly Ganesha making workshop for the mothers of our students to welcoming Ganpati Bappa in our school with joy and harmony. We performed aarti at school taking our classwise turns for 10 days. Our juniors learned the significance of lord Ganesha through various stories and activities. We are eagerly waiting for next year’s Ganesh Chaturthi!
