Every time exams come closer, I start feeling nervous. My stomach feels tight, and I keep thinking, “What if I forget everything?” I used to panic and study till late at night, but that only made me more tired and confused.
Then one day, my English teacher told me something simple — “Failing to plan is planning to fail… Plan your day and then prepare”. That really changed the way I looked at exams. Slowly, I found a few ways to handle the stress better, and I’d like to share them with you.
First, I learned to plan my studies. Instead of studying everything in one go, I made a small timetable. I studied a few chapters every day and revised them on weekends. This made me feel more in control.
Second, I started sleeping and eating properly. Earlier, I would skip dinner or stay up too late, but I realized that my brain works best when I rest well. A fresh mind remembers things faster.
Third, I began to take small breaks. After every hour of study, I walked for a few minutes or listened to a song. It really helped me stay fresh and focused.
And most importantly, I talked to my parents and friends whenever I felt too anxious. Just sharing my worries made me feel much better.
Now, when exams come, I still feel a little nervous — but it doesn’t scare me anymore. I know I’ve done my best, and that’s what truly matters.
Exams will come and go, but what stays with us is the confidence we build each time we face them calmly.
